Suggestions[edit]

Currently, there are 11 articles on Los Angeles' 10 largest ethnic groups and one religious group (Jews/Jewish Americans), and I suggest an expansion to 3 more: Russians, Samoans and Cherokee Indians, since Los Angeles has the largest populations of such ethnic groups in the country and the world outside their homelands (should I add the most Samoans outside the Samoa Islands and the most Cherokee outside of Oklahoma). Los Angeles may be home to every nationality, language and religion known to man, a little microcosm of the world and similar to New York City, either one can call it a "melting pot of soup" or a "multicultural fruit salad" of races, peoples and cultures. Not only Los Angeles city and county is amazingly diverse in world cultures, so is the entire Southern California region like Orange county, San Diego and the Inland Empire, and same goes to Northern California in the San Francisco Bay area, Sacramento and Stockton, and the San Joaquin Valley. We could add more ethnic group articles for Los Angeles, or start new templates of ethnic groups in other California's largest cities (San Francisco has them). 2605:E000:FDCA:4200:8CE3:33F8:10A3:5BB8 (talk) 23:26, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Diversification[edit]

In 1987, the US census stated for the first time in city history, Los Angeles had no racial majority, when white Anglos were under 50% or half the population. This is proven in the 1990 US census when it was 37% white, 30% Latino, 18% black and 12% Asian. Today, Downtown LA (census tract) has a 25% white (rising), 35% Latino (peak), 20% Asian (stagnant), 5% black (very low) and 15% other racial diversity profile. 67.49.89.214 (talk) 17:45, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
