Disambiguate multiple Eugene Chans please[edit]

Is Eugene Chan a linguist from Hong Kong or a professor of marketing? If both are notable, disambiguate via Eugene Chan (linguist), Eugene Chan (professor), use middle names, if possible, etc., lest we continue this 2+ year slow-motion edit war.

@Primefac: sorry for the random ping, but yours is the first admin name that came to mind, in case you're curious enough to investigate! I'll notify WT:Biography for good measure.   ~ Tom.Reding (talkdgaf)  11:25, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This will probably involve some history splitting, but I'll see what I can do. And yes, Eugene Chan itself should be converted to a dab. Primefac (talk) 12:12, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A note on the page history[edit]

Eugene Chan was originally written about Eugene Chan (linguist), but a slow-burning edit war to change the content to Eugene Chan (professor) ensued. The page was split to preserve each version's history, and moved to the appropriate disambiguated title. This is why there are a lot of zero-change "undo" edits in the middle of the history. Just leaving this note here to explain that discrepancy. Primefac (talk) 12:32, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
