Move this page to European Cup (disambiguation), and redirect European Cup to UEFA Champions League, with an otheruses db hat note to European Cup (disambiguation).

Even though the football "European Cup" is not the title of UEFA Champions League, it is still the overwhelming primary topic of "European Cup" because:

it is still the top ranked usage of the term "European Cup" -wikipedia
it is the oldest use of the term (some other competitions were actually named after the football model)
current misdirected incoming links to here are all meant for the football article [1].
the destination football article is the most trafficked article by far. Example page view stats for last month:
- European Cup (athletics) 15
- European Cup (baseball) 18
- IIHF European Champions Cup 40 (from European Cup (ice hockey) 6)
- UEFA Champions League 4,000 (rising to 17,000 on one day)
