Predecessor groups

I would propose to cover the predecessors of the ELDR Group (Liberal Group, 1953-75; Liberal and Democratic Group, 1976-85; Liberal and Democratic Reformist Group, 1985-94) in this article as well. There is general consistency between these groups, only the names changed. The article about the EPP Group also covers its Christian democratic predecessors. Plus: having extra articles for every single of these groups would require continual maintenance for four articles which would be more difficult to realise. What do you think? Your proposal is sound, and it has my full backing. --Autospark (talk) 23:18, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

Name

The current name is wrong, ELDR became a party in 2004, at the same time it already formed a new joint group, the "Alliance etc." So, there has never been a group, called after a party, as before 2004 there had been no party and after 2004 this group does not exist anymore. --SamWinchester000 (talk) 01:32, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

It's referenced in the article that there was a European parliamentary group existing prior to 2004 called the "European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party".--Autospark (talk) 15:14, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
