Slick? Frothy?[edit]

Let's use more understandible terms...... Zazaban 00:32, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Eurodance artists should NOT be listed here[edit]

E-Type, Mr. President, Basshunter ...etc.

are u serious? There's a distinct sound between eurodance and europop. Someone with an account please edit this article. Europop is more pop oriented music than anything while eurodance (and trance) has much higher bpm and is more dance oriented.

- - Some Eurohouse acts indeed do a crossover with Europop through the mid / late 90s. Gina G for example. In Europe, the later eurohouse productions sounded dated and people became call them "europop", because they had an appeal to more mature (age) people and especially the fans of Eurovision. For the Americans, Eurohouse is 80% what they call "eurodance" a.k.a. 90s eurodance

Mr President is eurohouse / europop E-Type had some europop hits, but he is mostly remembered for his eurohouse productions Basshunter is typical uplifting house

The artists of the list could be far better[edit]

Indeed some of the artists of the list are "europop" But the list also include eurodisco, italodisco (discofox) even Eurohouse ones!!! Better examples could be used I think.

I mean, Modern Talking europop? O-Zone? Dalida and Baccara? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Labrokratis (talkcontribs) 20:16, 9 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

europop on the political agenda[edit]

I agree with the previous comment that Europop is much more then just the acts that fall in Eurodisco and so on. Besides that Europop as a definition has made a substantial shift to a more policial issue on the agenda of Europe, meaning that typical pop music from the several European is something preserve becaus it's unique identities. On the political lobby this resulted in actions from AIM, Impala, UNESCO and so on.

On private account we created a website of our own dedicated to all those unique pop-artists around Europe next to the political issues. We wanted to add the link to this page but Wikipedia was unsure if it was rightfull. What do you think? The URL is www.europopmusic.eu. Please let us and wikipedia know.
