Characters to merge[edit]

I've posted the 20 characters from the official Ever After High website onto the main page. Each character has a profile online which can be used to expand on the subject should more details be needed. Additional characters such as their parents / relatives can be grouped within those main 20. -AngusWOOF (talk) 23:42, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Character guidelines[edit]

The character list contains just the 20 characters that are featured on Ever After High's main website.

Some of the key information to include for each character.

  • Name of character
  • Brief description. Physical is okay. Refer to website.
  • Relation to fairy tale in fiction. (e.g. daughter of Snow White)
  • Current occupation if not a student: (student alumni, staff, not affiliated). If the character is a student, specify relation to the main character (roommate, friend, relative)
  • When and where was the character first introduced or will be released. Cite press releases.
  • Any particular groups the character is associated?
  • Debut in web series and role significance (star, recurring character, episodic star, background) and novels.
  • Major storylines from web series and novels.
  • Voice actor if applicable.
  • Development of the character if known.
  • List pets only if significant.

There shouldn't be a need to list any further characters, but in case there are major characters from the web series and novels, they can be listed as secondary characters under section "introduced in the novels" or "introduced in the web series" AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:37, 21 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've checked the website today and the count is up to 22 with the additions of Darling Charming and Faybelle Thorn. So, the guideline is:
  • If it has a doll and is listed on the main website, it goes in Main characters
  • If it is a major character but no doll/website, it goes in Supporting characters

I've added a bunch of the faculty and minor characters as listed in the yearbook. If they are not notable you can strike them out. They should stay there until they get a doll and a mention on the website. Minor characters that are one-offs in episodes should stay out. Questionable, massive reorganization[edit]

In this edit I've reverted a fairly massive reorganization intiated by MissiHaleSupporter. The user has presented no clear reason for moving all the content around, inexplicably removed embedded notes, removing references with no explanation, adding a lot of interpretive content without an explanation or more importantly a reference, adding redundant language like "she starts dating and going out with Dexter Charming", or adding speculative comments like "He is perhaps Bunny's boyfriend". These edits violate WP:OR and WP:BURDEN. For these reasons, I have removed the content. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:04, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cite needed, and then some[edit]

In this edit AngusWOOF reverted content submitted by Fabcats1 with the comment "please cite the episodes where this plot development happens (e.g. In "(episode name)", X and Y have begun dating". I would further recommend that we decide if this content is worth including at all, even if sourced. Far too often our Character lists turn into venues for rehashing episode plot summaries, each from the perspective of a different character, and you wind up with convoluted redundant content. Some of the content seems the sort of thing worth including if it's about the character. Content about all the different stuff the character experiences can get crufty. Remember, we're supposed to be including real-world information as well. Just a note. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:38, 29 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the plot material should be limited to significant changes to the character in the series. The episodes can go into further detail, including when a character gets an episode debut (just a link from the episode list would suffice). For example, a character changes from being a Royal to a Rebel, resulting in dolls being produced under both groups. Similarly, for the relationships formed, it should be something beyond the episodic. A side character getting a doll would also be worth including. Can you PLEASE change Blondie's last name spelling? Because it is actually spelled L-O-C-K-E-S. ;) — Preceding unsigned comment added by WhyDoIEvenBotherWithIt? (talkcontribs) 13:41, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Change for the physical description of the character. Briar Beauty has long wavy chestnut hair with pink streaks. LibM852 (talk) 08:45, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Remove this whole sentence: "As with Monster High and Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse, the line varies in different countries and varies in languages."

This sentence is unnecessary, of course it varies in languages in different countries, which doesn't need to be said. Lockejava (talk) 00:22, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: I don't see an issue with mentioning that in the lead. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 13:30, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

---Hansel's name goes before Gretel's so Helga's name should go first! It should day, "Helga is the daughter of Hansel and Gus is the son of Gretel", not "Gus is the son of Gretel and Helga is the daughter of Hansel"! --2600:1001:A110:C7BF:B7D1:6FE5:C66B:4203 (talk) 16:57, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
