"Expresso" is not correct in English or Italian and never has been.

I once asked a Barista what an Esspresso was, and she said "do you mean expresso?". Facepalm.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.252.49.110 (talk) 02:41, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OED says both are acceptable . . . — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.218.224.128 (talk) 22:02, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Expresso" is an acceptable anglicization of the Italian word espresso and was in use for decades before pretentious cafes in the 80s began using the Italian spelling exclusively. Any American dictionary from the 60s-70s contains "expresso." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.14.11.78 (talk) 12:53, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Yworo" keeps incorrectly referring to "expresso" as a "misspelling" -- when it IS in fact how it is spelt in French! lol 193.109.199.35 (talk) 20:24, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We have consensus not to promote this misspelling (see Talk:Espresso). And you've been vandalizing both articles in exactly this way for several days. You aren't fooling anyone. Yworo (talk) 20:26, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It seems quite intuitive that the primary reason people use the world "expresso" in English has nothing to do with the French, but rather to do with the fact that "express" is a commonly used American word. Even though it is spelled "espresso" in all the Western states and has only been popular for a short time, people of all ages use "expresso", despite never having encountered the world spelled that way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.210.131.93 (talk) 09:37, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't touched, much less "vandalized", any article. Ever. Who is "we", and what "consensus" are you talking about? Read the comments above. I just read the talk page at Talk:Espresso and see you've done the exactly the same thing there to Wikipedia. Promoting a falsehood for no apparent reason. Congrats. And please stop harassing me and accusing me of being a "sockpuppet" and a "vandal". Leave me alone. 193.109.199.35 (talk) 20:29, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, you pass the duck test. Give it up. Yworo (talk) 20:30, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What makes you think that I care about anything you have to say about ducks or expressos or socks or anything else? Leave me alone. 193.109.199.35 (talk) 20:42, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sure thing. Just go away and quit your disruptive editing and personal attacks. Yworo (talk) 20:46, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Um... even wikipedia, this site, accepts the spelling of it with an x. [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.158.5.42 (talk) 04:59, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
