how was he a junior in 2012 and a college freshman in 2013? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.186.86.53 (talk) 12:25, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ezekiel was born in Creve Coeur, MO at Mercy Hospital located at 615 S New Ballas Rd, Creve Coeur, MO 63141. I am his mother, and if you would like, I will scan a copy of his birth certificate for you. I know where my son was born. Just because we moved to Alton when he was 5 years old, does not mean he was born there. I kow he is a fuck me with an email address so that I may scan in his birth certificate and send it to you all, so that you can keep this correct and stop changing it back to Alton, IL. EZEKIEL WAS NOT BORN IN ALTON, IL! I am more than willing to prove it to you as well.

Thank you so much, Dawn Elliott mizdee@gmail.com

I'm not sure why Alton was listed as his birthplace. Lizard (talk) 18:14, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

|statlabel7 =Rushing Attempts |statvalue7 =198 |statlabel8 =Rushing Average Yards Per Game |statvalue8 =111.7

Does not have to be those specific stat lines (7 and 8), but i'm suggesting adding those two stat variables to the list in some form. Request is current with the week 10 Results.

All stats recovered from NFL.com Harambeswill (talk) 16:49, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not done The infobox only supports up to 6 stat labels and values. Furthermore, attempts are rarely listed, and I've never seen yards per game listed. Lizard (talk) 17:03, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

On November 13, 2016, he had his best game statistically to date, when he accounted for 203 total yards and three of the Cowboy's touchdowns. During the victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Elliott had his first career touchdown after catching a pass from fellow rookie Dak Prescott and taking it for an 83-yard touchdown and ran 32-yards for the game-winning touchdown with Rodrspv (talk) 23:02, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Despite his athletic pedigree"?????[edit]

This seems to have been added without explanation. Did his dad play football? RobertGary1 (talk) 02:49, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I'm adding some info about his dad (Mizzou LB) and his mom (Mizzou track athlete). It was in the entry this summer, but it was near the end of the entry, and it was removed, possibly due to lack of sourcing. EricEnfermero (Talk) 03:43, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Elliot was awarded Fed Ex Ground and Air Player of the year award, not the NFL Rookie of the Year. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhinckle16 (talkcontribs) 04:07, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 5 February 2017[edit]

Ezekiel Elliot was not awarded NFL Rookie of the Year Awards, he was noted as Fed Ex Ground Player of the Year, as of yet there is no acronym of way of listing this...save for in their biography under list of achievements/accomplishments. Thus, it should be excised to conform with current standards in their initial height/weight and other information section.

"Please remove NFL Rookie of the Year (2016) in their about section...to FED Ex Ground Rookie of the Year"...or something analogous.

Jhinckle16 (talk) 04:48, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a new user, so I apologize if I do anything wrong, which is why I'll keep this one simple and only two requests..

1) Cite/Reference 5 is a dead link.

2) Following reference 13, under the section College Career, the sentence "However, the team suffered a 14–17 loss to Michigan State on 21 Nov. 2015, and Elliott announced that he would enter the 2016 NFL Draft[14]" is lacking a period after 'Draft'. Gasawyer (talk) 06:06, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! Perfectly understandable requests. I took care of those. EricEnfermero (Talk) 06:29, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Basic Idea for Change:[edit]

Remove Individual Awards section, change/add to Awards section.

Generalized Suggested Change:[edit]

Awards and Accolades[edit]

NFL:[edit]

2016[edit]

  • FedEx Ground Player of the Year
  • Offensive Rookie of the Month – October [42]
  • 4× Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week[43]
  • NFC Offensive Player of the Week – Week 10 [44]
  • NFL Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week – Week 10
  • 2x NFL FedEx Ground Running Back of the Week
  1. Week 4
  2. Week 5

College Football:[edit]

2015[edit]

  • Graham-George Offensive Player of the Year,
  • Ameche-Dayne Running Back of the Year and was selected as
  • Unanimous First Team All-Big Ten.
  • Big Ten Player of the Week (2x) [17]
  1. Week 5, against Indiana
  2. Week 13 against Michigan

2014[edit]

  • Sugar Bowl Offensive MVP
  • College Football National Championship

High School:[edit]

  • List
  • of
  • Awards
  • In which I will provide edit to this section later if someone else doesn't.

Moreless, the Reasoning behind the Suggestion:[edit]

A few reasons; the individual awards section becomes redundant in a variety of ways -- much of what is in the section is mentioned in the preceding 'College Football' section. Whether the Individual Awards is supposed to be a subsection or not really doesn't make a difference, it's just something that doesn't need to be there. What's not listed in the preceding section should just be listed under awards -- although I intend on providing a contextual edit to each of the Career sections, at minimum. For the changes to the Awards section, and specifcally formatting, this will make it easier to add any additional awards that:

  1. Have been missed relating to his High School and College Althetic Careers
  2. For any additional awards he wins going forward in his professional career, which I think most would agree that it's safe to say he will.

It also allows for increased readability when scrolling through the awards (instead of having a slew of 2014, 2015, 2016, etc plus multiples (i.e., 4x, 2x), Week numbers, just to name a few.

Thank you, Gabriel Gasawyer (talk) 07:24, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think this would be a needless stretching-out of the article. Imagine all the subsections this would result in 10 years from now. Say in that time he's named FedEx Ground Player of the Week 25 times. It would be much better list that as "25× FedEx Ground Player of the Week" followed by years/weeks in parentheses than to list each individual week on a separate line. That would result in a ton of unsightly white space. As for combining his college and pro awards under the same section, that seems like a good idea to me. In the Personal Life section, it states "committed suicide by a self-induced gunshot wound to the head". The wording should change from "self-induced" to "self-inflicted". 38.84.128.189 (talk) 17:47, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please edit Ezekiel Elliott's "Personal Life" to include the fact that he was suspended for six games to start the 2017 NFL season following a domestic violence incident in July of 2016. Suspensions are included on the pages for other NFL athletes, and even though no criminal charges were filed against him, accusations of domestic violence are newsworthy. I believe a fair edit would read something like this:

On August 11, 2017, the NFL announced its decision to suspend Elliot for the first six games of the 2017 NFL season following an investigation into accusations of domestic violence from July 2016.[1] Tiffany Thompson accused Elliot of abusing her on three separate occasions during the week of July 16, 2016. Ohio police officials declined to press charges against Elliott. [1] The NFL investigation, however, found that there was "no persuasive evidence presented on [Elliott's] behalf with respect to how Ms. Thompson's obvious injuries were incurred other than conjecture based on the presence of some of her bruising which pre-dates [Elliot's] arrival in Columbus on July 16, 2016. [1] Elliott filed an appeal to the Commissioner's suspension decision on August 16, 2017. [1] 205.149.22.9 (talk) 16:15, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the suspension is sufficiently covered under the "2017 season" section. Any more than that and we risk giving it undue weight. Lizard (talk) 16:26, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace[edit]

It's possible they got it from nfl.com, but ESPN says it's Alton. [1] Enigmamsg 19:43, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NFL.com doesn't give the birthplace on the mobile version, so that's my mistake. But Pro Football Reference and his Ohio State profile say St. Louis. He also threw out the first pitch at a St. Louis Cardinals game as a "St. Louis Native." I've never heard of someone being a native of a place where they merely attended high school. Lizard (talk) 19:59, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
[2] "Elliott, who grew up in Alton, but attended and played high school football at John Burroughs High School in St. Louis..." Enigmamsg 21:16, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Right. In cases like this where sources are split, it's best to list both and explain the discrepancies in the article. Lizard (talk) 21:58, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Signed with New England[edit]

Numerous reports he signed a one-year contract with New England. 75.244.29.47 (talk) 01:06, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't matter. Obnoxious dorks who edit Wikipedia will not allow the change until they can see the contract by themselves. On the other hand, when somebody dies, their first impulse is to rush to Wikipedia and change all auxiliary verbs related to that person from "is" to "was". 79.235.124.199 (talk) 11:03, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it's almost as if WP:V is policy or something. --Kinu t/c 18:42, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
