Rename[edit]

I don't feel like I'm the person to do it, but it seems like this article should be renamed F is for Family with a lowercase "i" in "is." The current weird capitalization is both incorrect and also not how the show does it, so I think it was just a mistake. MrBlonde267 (talk) 04:54, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

MrBlonde267 and Adog I agree as well. However, a page move has been attempted twice already: once in 9 May 2015 by Logical Fuzz and then again in 9 January 2016 by Edfilmsuk. This would imply that both attempts were reverted for whatever reason. Since these attempts pre-date this rename consensus, I would hope that another attempt would stick. That being said, we should keep a close eye on a possible revert. I will attempt a page move reasoning this Talk Page discussion. Maineartists (talk) 01:06, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done I have done the move, as per the above discussion and as per WP:LOWERCASE (part of the m,anual of style). We don't follow "official" capitalization, we use sentence case except in very unusual circumstances. In this case the two give the same result . Wrong. Just because you write it, doesn't make it true. Re: "consensus" - please read the above discussions where the word "agree" is used more than once. That forms a consensus. Second, this situation does not in any way go against WP policy because MOS:CT does not apply here. One does not correct the misspelled word in a title when it is found in a created work just to comply with WP policy. "That's not how it works. That's not how any of this works." MOS:CT is for writing articles, not for listing existing titled works such as TV series. There is absolutely nothing, not one thing, in WP:OFFICIALNAME that even comes remotely close to this discussion. You must provide other examples where the Title of a work goes against WP policy (as you state here) and yet has been changed from its original title (grammatically) to appease such policy: i.e. F Is for Family. A proper RM was not held to move it from its longstanding title, and so it was moved back. The "agreement" between a handful of editors does not change this. Nothing was raised as to why this article should go against standard naming guidelines, so that's up to you to defend and gain a consensus for. MOS:CT clearly starts with [i]n titles, so yes, it applies to article titles. As for WP:OFFICIALNAMES, it also starts off with [p]eople often assume that, where an official name exists for the subject of a Wikipedia article, that name is ipso facto the correct title for the article, and that if the article is under another title then it should be moved. In many cases this is contrary to Wikipedia practice and policy. Hence, we do not title the article with a lowercase "is" solely because of it being Netflix's official title. "Is" is not a preposition and is therefore capitalized in a title. How a series chooses to style its title name is irrelevant, as we go by MOS:CT here, which states to not capitalize prepositions, unless they are at the beginning or end of the title. The one exception being prepositions of more than four letters. In that case, we do capitalize them, at least by Wikipedia's standards. We don't put an article title all in capital letters if that's how a series styles its title logo. This is no different. Amaury • 22:39, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Maineartists: Although MOS:CT is the guideline for Wikipedia, it may make you you feel better that according to https://capitalizemytitle.com/ Wikipedia agrees here with Chicago Manual of Style, APA Style, MLA Style, AP Style, and NY Times Style that verbs like “Is” are capitalized. —teb728 t c 05:41, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How many children does the family have?[edit]

The cast list refers to Frank and Sue as having four children, but their only children listed directly below them are Kevin, Bill, and Maureen. Is there a fourth child that I'm missing? --Metropolitan90 (talk) 07:40, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why do they use so yellow[edit]
