Article direction[edit]

I found out about this subject from Mark Bray's Antifa book, thought it was interesting, and looked into it. All the sources were in German, so I delved into it with rudimentary knowledge of the language and some translation tools, and I thought it was notable enough for Wikipedia and wrote the article for it. (As of this writing, I'm the only one who has worked on it, but it's only been up for a few days.)

I have mostly been writing it from interesting details in the anonymously compiled Fantifa book, which isn't perfect for an encyclopedia because the book's tone is self-aggrandizing. As a result, there's a fair bit of fan(tifa)cruft that will need to be edited down or cut out entirely. I think it's reasonable to start out the article with these interesting details, even if it's not perfectly encyclopedic because it can provide a basis for the article subject matter that can be shaped later on in the editing stage with WikiProjects trying to make it into a better grade article.

Sources are a bit of an issue. I've mostly just cited the Fantifa book because that's where a lot of information is compiled. I've attempted to find other sources but unfortunately end up citing a lot of primary sources because the subject is obscure enough that it just doesn't get written about all that much. It seems to mostly be Fantifa, Antifa, and articles that reference Fantifa and Antifa (i.e. circular reporting). At this point, I'm just trying to show that the subject is definitely "a thing". There is this feminist offshoot of German antifa that is notable in its own right and called fantifa (or f_antifa/f*antifa). Future editors will definitely need to locate more secondary sources.
