Crew[edit]

According to the text and illustrations and photos of the Oct 1932 Popular Science, the plane was meant to carry two crew. When in the lower seat the pilot had no windows, but flew on instruments. The second crewman sat behind him, with windows on either side where he could take observations from the instruments mounted on the bracing struts. Right or not, it gives engine power as 430hp, from an inverted V engine with a four bladed variable ppitch prop, both very advanced for the day. However, the engine is SUPERcharged, with triple blowers. This was quite new advanced technology in 1932, and I don't believe for a moment that it was given a "turbosupercharger" before flight. That was groundbreaking in 1940! The article clear states that they are superchargers, and the photos of the engine clearly show mechanically-driven superchargers mounted on the rear face of the engine. 64.223.165.204 (talk) 22:16, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
