Untitled[edit]

This still the first (+/-) edition of the document and it needs a huge time to redesign !

Please help me making this page better !

Why you want to delete this page ???

Instead of deleting this page, lease try to improve it. I am new to wikipedia and you can help me by improving pages I create not deleting it

Deletion[edit]

It seems pretty clear that Boulabiar, the user who created this page (twice), either [a] is Farouk Kamoun, or [b] copied the page contents from text that was written by Farouk Kamoun. Ther are several instances where the POV slips from third-person to first-person, and it reads more like a resume than a Wikipedia article. Plus, it is entirely unreferenced. Since it will require more work to clean this up than to create a new article from scratch -- and its unclear whether or not this person is even notable enough to merit such an article -- I believe it should be deleted. --Xiaphias 21:43, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Use of First-Person[edit]

  (1) His first involvement, with networking, was during his PhD work at UCLA during the 70's where I got quite involved with...
  (2) I participated to an ISOC meeting in France and have been pushing for the creation of a chapter in Tunisia.
  (3) Moreover, I can relay ISOC philosophy and message to the developing world.
  (6) His experience with international bodies such as IFIP and ICCC as well as UNESCO will be quite valuable for my work within the ISOC
  (4) Lately He got involved in Distance Education through some expertise I provided to the Tunisian Virtual University
  (5) He can bring my experience to ISOC in dealing with issues related...

Subjective Evaluations[edit]

  (1) His leadership in the networking field is well established in Tunisia as well as abroad.
  (2) His understanding of the interplay between education and the needs of society, particularly in the developing world...
  (3) He has a unique experience as Academician to develop training and research...
  (4) Being trilingual (French, English and Arabic) and having lived in North America, Europe and now in North Africa are strong
assets for a better understanding of developing countries specific needs and requirements and moreover, to foster a constructive
dialogue between the developing and the developed countries.
I'm not saying you're wrong about this (that's why I haven't removed the speedy tag) but technically it's not what CSD A7 is for.--P4k 21:50, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Would CSD G11 be the most appropriate? --Xiaphias 22:01, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe, I don't know. Anyway it's not a big deal, either way an admin will see the article and make a decision, and you've explained your case on this talk page. It's just sort of a pet peeve of mine I guess.--P4k 22:05, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm the admin, and the article certainly does at least assert notability. The writing however, is not like an encyclopedia article, and this is not good: the criticism of Xiapas and P4k is perfectly correct, I have changed it to a slower procedure, proposed deletion; please improve it--you can see an example of a good article in the one for your advisor--if you do improve it , remove the proposed deletion tag--but if you dont, it will probably end up by being deleted. Further advice--

The second half of the paper seeems from the style and formatting to have been copied form a website.Thisi is not acceptable, because it is a copyright violation. It must be rewritten or removed; in any case it repeats the earlier material, and the facts -- & only the facts-- should be listed at the proper places in the earlier part.

There are also needed some references to your work; with the public career specified, this should be possible. The references cannotcome from your own institute. In addition, there should be a short list of a few of your most important papers. DGG 22:57, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's true that I copy this article from another webpage, I have some modification but the page I get it from don't contain copyright. I will try to imrove the article to meet wikipedia standards. And I want to say that it's a professor at my school and he don't have the time to write to wikipedia. I thnik he meet the notability points because he has invented a new thing used now in Internet and in networks based on packet switching. I have the idea to add this page after visiting the page of Leonard Kleinrock and finding a link to this page when it was empty.

Just about everything is copyrighted.--P4k 09:04, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A new version[edit]

I am editing now a new version and it will be complete in the next hours

Third-party sources[edit]

The article lacks reliable third-party sources (journal articles, books etc.) discussing the article subject. Wikiepdia articles should not be written from private, first-hand knowledge, but should reflect existing coverage in reliable sources. (These can also be foreign-language sources, where no English sources are available.) Jayen466 18:27, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
