Improvement[edit]

Trying to make some progress on improving the quality of this article. No time today to do much, but I have found some references. Perhaps some other editors want to get started:

Wonderful video of the feni process here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY6Qlm7Q3PI although after watching the process, I'm far less eager to try Fenny (Distillation or not, it looks to me like a tropical bacterial paradise!) and an article here http://www.goanlife.com/feni/ seeems to be one of the few that isn't just a copy of this Wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark Asread (talkcontribs) 19:58, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also note this BBC story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8680904.stm and this blog http://alvares.in/mario/20081202/goas-feni-may-get-gi-tag/ Mark Asread 20:02, 29 January 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mark Asread (talkcontribs)

..and this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRMM8Cg3bEg

This page has no quallifications[edit]

While I can believe most of the ideas on this page, there are a number of terms that have no prior meaning to me and no derivation, including:

  coimbi
  kodem
  neero
  bhann
  launni

I would like to know how the "strength" of a drink can be measured in "grao". Every reference to "grao" I have come across refers either to this document (or a copy of it), or the Portuguese word for chickpea.

Also, the process for making fenny does not appear to include any fermentation stage. While I can imagine that it is possible that natural fermentation would occur while the juice is being pressed, it ought to be mentioned as this is an alcoholic drink!

Does not conform to wikipedia standards[edit]

This article reads like something my grandma might have told me for a bedtime story. It does not read like a factual, well thought out English-as-a-first-language article at all.

I have attempted to fix some of it, but it really needs someone with more skill than I to carve it into shape.

On the bright side, it does have a lot of factual information amongst the tourism-brochure material, so kudos to the original poster for doing the lion's share of the work.

Can someone flag this article for an editing makeover, please?

2021 documentary about feni production[edit]

This is a 2021 documentary about feni production. I tried to add it to the "External links" section of the article, but my edit was immediately reverted for no reason (especially in light of the video's extremely high educational value). 173.88.246.138 (talk) 22:23, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
