A good collection of unwikified facts. Needs better tie-ins to the scandal and the current (Feb 2007) political hullabaloo. An important piece in understanding the current political situation of Colombia.

Why "Master Botero" and "Master Fernando Botero" ?[edit]

In the section titled "Death of Pedrito Botero", Botero Zea's father is mentioned twice with the honorary "Master" before his name. This reads oddly to me (I am an American.) See here:

In the car were Master Fernando Botero, his then wife Cecilia Zambrano, his sister Lina and his brother Pedro, as well as Botero Zea himself. In this automobile accident not only Pedro Botero lost his life, but also Master Botero himself was seriously injured in both hands.

At first, I found myself wondering, "Who is Master Botero?" Is this honorary title necessary, appropriate? MusaVeneziana(talk) 00:16, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
