Event?[edit]

Recent Event?

"A major recent event was the "Wahine Storm" of 1968"

I am not sure this was a recent event - It was 38 years ago.

The Tamaki Brothers of Rotorua have received substantial CCC assistance to construct a tourist Māori village on the site which is expected to open in 2004.

This work is currently underway and look to have at least a year left before any level of completion.

There is no Maori village on the site in 2016.Royalcourtier (talk) 00:53, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Heathcote County Council?[edit]

There is a passing reference to "being managed by the Heathcote County Council", but the article makes no reference to the Heathcote council having any involvement.Royalcourtier (talk) 00:49, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Flood risk[edit]

The site remains low lying, very close to water courses, and at considerable flood risk. No stopbanks or bunds have been built. I would question the claim that "This is no longer a major issue due to the filling of large parts of the site." Filling of the site - there is little evidence of this on-site - means only that there wouldn't be deeper puddles when the entire site is under water. It would do nothing at all to reduce the considerable risk of flooding.Royalcourtier (talk) 00:52, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
