Parsons 8 Surf Court[edit]

What is Parsons 8 Surf Court? Is it a specific address or a club? If it is a club, where on the island is it located?

filming or no?[edit]

the article currently reads:

The Island is also a known filming location for the popular TV show, Dawsons Creek, with the urban scenes filmed nearby in the city of Wilmington.
No movie or TV show has ever been allowed to shoot on the island.

etymology of name[edit]

It'd be nice if the etymology of the name were added in.—msh210 20:02, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ligon Flynn Red Link[edit]

Regarding the single Ligon Flynn Red Link in the Figure Eight Island article, per WP:Red Link, there is no problem with having Red Links for articles that are either forthcoming or should be. Ligon Flynn actually happens to be a noted architect, with a distinctive indiginous architectural style and a storied, award-winning career. A study conducted in 2008 showed that red links helped Wikipedia grow, and keep articles from being orphaned from the start. So please stop stripping the Red Link from the article. Thanks. 842U (talk) 10:36, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for this. I continued to revert the red link edit because there had not been a specified reason given in the edit summary until the last time you added it to the article. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 13:36, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple Issues[edit]

The article has numerous issues: in places it is written like an advertisement, overall it does not have a neutral tone (no controversy, problems, etc), and the tone or style doesn't reflect the encyclopedic tone. It's possible that one editor is close to the subject matter and displays ownership issues. 842U (talk) 17:45, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that prior to some of your edits the article's tone was not encyclopedic. After your recent edits, however, I fail to see the necessity of the article being tagged. I would like to point out that there is a controversy already mentioned as its own subsection in the article. Do you expect small vacation destinations to have a multitude of controversies and problems? Is this standard held for other North Carolinian beaches on Wikipedia? Say Bald Head Island, Emerald Isle, Sunset Beach, Wrightsville Beach, etc.. ? -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 00:35, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please excercise Good Faith here; it's a central tenant to successful editing. Also, please review Ownership to be sure collaborative editing is taking place and that the article isn't only representing the point of view of single editor.842U (talk) 13:30, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am not acting as an owner of the article. I am merely asking a question. If you are able to find additional controversies then by all means add them. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 13:32, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Surprisingly was able to find information regarding a drug smuggling incident, a house fire, and two shark attacks which I have added to the article. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 14:21, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
