Merger proposal[edit]

I recently came across a stub article for Aisle 3, which was a concept of Filene's Basement. I propose merging any non-overlapping content from the stub into the Filene's Basement article. --Oddharmonic (talk) 19:06, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming that Aisle 3 was owned by Filene's Basement, then I would say go for it. I went ahead and merged it. All of the information was already here. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 03:23, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing Sentence[edit]

The following sentence doesn't make any sense:

In 2006, the original Filene's chain of which the store had once been a part, was purchased by its rival Macy's Department Stores. Because many store locations between the two chains did not overlap, most Filene's Basement locations were spared and reopened as Macy's, but the flagship location was not.

Filene's and Filene's Basement were two completely separate entities at this point. So, I don't think it's true that "most Filene's Basement locations were spared and reopened as Macy's". I don't think any Filene's Basement stores became Macy's because Macy's didn't buy Filene's Basement. Also, how would re-opening as Macy's constitute being "spared". It would seem more correct to say, "Most Filene's Basement locations were spared because Filene's had absolutely nothing to do with Filene's Basement."

Also, which "two chains" is the second sentence talking about? There are 3 chains of stores being discussed. Quite a confusing, and I believe factually incorrect, paragraph. Onlynone (talk) 06:42, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The paragraph is talking about the original Filene's chain, which the Basement "was once part of". It has little to do with Filene's Basement, but serves as some background information as to why there is no longer a Filene's chain while there is a Filene's Basement. Yes, but this part of the paragraph, "most Filene's Basement locations were spared and reopened as Macy's" is false. I'll fix it tomorrow. Onlynone (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 03:46, 7 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]
Oh, sorry, that was my fault when I reworded the paragraph a few days ago. It should say just "Filene's". I'll fix it on the page. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 03:54, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

6 co-branding stores opened[edit]

Both Filene's Basement and SYMS website show that 6 stores (that is, 2 combined stores in 1) are named as Filene's Basement/SYMS. NorthJersey.com also has details about this. Sjkop123 (talk) 22:59, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They are actually named fbSY. Newspapers and other reliable sources have information as well. Grk1011/Stephen (talk) 00:00, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
