Non-military usage?[edit]

I often hear "fire and forget" used to refer to *any* operation -- say, computer backup -- that, once set into motion, continues without further action on the part of the operator. I don't know where that would belong, but I feel like it's a pretty significant omission here; I don't know, but I feel like most people who Google "fire and forget" and end up here aren't going to be looking for missile guidance info. The best thing to do would probaly be to gather some reliable sources that define the term and its scope in non-military useage. Then we can either add a section to the article explaining it, or create a separate article, depending on the size of the info. but without reliable sources, we really can't do anything. - BilCat (talk) 02:53, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
