Name and location info changed[edit]

An editor renamed the article by moving it from "Firefighter (fireboat)" to "Fire Fighter (fireboat)" and removed coordinates and changed multiple mentions of the name of the boat within this article (and also in List of National Historic Landmarks in New York City article).

The main sources in this article, including the NRHP nomination document and the NHL webpage, show the previous name was correct.

What are any sources at all that the asserted new name is correct, at all? Even if the new name is a valid alternative name, that does not justify moving the article without discussion, and it does not justify removing the other name, which is documented as a valid name for the ship. On what basis is the location info removed?

If you have not already done so, please read the entire NRHP document thoroughly, as well as the other refs and ext links in the article, and look at the photo at full resolution. As to location, boats move and it's simply not docked there anymore. I think I know where it is, but don't have a citation or coords so left it out for now. Okay, thanks for replying. It is documented in at least three sources cited in the article that the name is Firefighter, so i just returned that to the article. It is in fact the NRHP listing name and the NHL listing name, as documented in the titles of the NHL webpage and in the title of the NRHP nomination document, and accordingly as what shows in official lists. So the Firefighter name has to stay in the article, and should be what shows in the NRHP infobox (asserting this is the article where the NRHP-listed place of that name is covered). Thanks, I do see the photograph shows a space within the name of the boat, on the boat itself, and that the body of the NRHP nom text mostly or always uses "Fire Fighter". I can't explain the inconsistency in the NRHP nom. But again, fact is that "Firefighter" or "FIREFIGHTER" is now one name used to refer to the boat. So, I'll agree to the move, and hope my other edits meet with your approval, too. --do ncr am 20:26, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
