Sexual orientation[edit]

Is his sexual orientation by itself significant enough to be mentioned in 'Personal life'? If he was particularly known as an LGBTQ+ rights campaigner, or had a famous partner, or something like that I could understand it, but just being gay seems too inconsequential a piece of information as it is. You wouldn't mention that a heterosexual actor was heterosexual unless there was anything more to it.

I think the 'personal life' section should be removed until there's actually something of note to say about it. 82.37.9.92 (talk) 16:44, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I find that reasoning illogical. The assumption is that a person is heterosexual; not mentioning an LGBTQ person's sexuality leaves that assumption intact, which is misleading. Furthermore, it's not up to Wikipedia editors to make that call. A person's sexuality is notable if it receives attention in published, neutral, reliable sources. It has, and therefore is notable. - Tim1965 (talk) 00:58, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
