Criteria[edit]

1. Well-written

Prose clear, concise, and understandable checkY
Spelling/Grammar checkY
MOS Lead  Possibly See comment below, I understand that there's only so much you can write about this subject, but the lead is rather short for a GA. It does provide a good overview of the subject, so that won't be a sticking point though.
MOS Layout  Possibly Again, the "Design" section is three sentences long. There's only so much you can write about the design of a flag without getting too verbiose or overly technical, but if it could be expanded that would be nice. Rather short section.
Buzzwords/Fiction/Lists checkY

2. Verifiable

No OR checkY
Inline Citations from RS checkY
List of references properly formatted checkY
No COPYVIO checkY

3. Broad in coverage

Covers main aspects checkY The topic seems to be covered thoroughly, as there's only so much you can write about this one and still be reasonably concise and understandable to a non-vexollogist.
Stays focused on topic checkY

4. Neutral checkY

5. Stable checkY

6. Illustrated if possible

Media tagged for copyright status  Possibly I'm not sure on this one. The file is tagged as "own work", but would there be any sort of copyright held over a municipal flag design? If so, the image will need a fair use rationale.
Media relevant checkY
Additional images I totally understand why if this is impossible to do, but it would be nice if an image of either or both of the past flags could be added to the article. I don't know if this is feasible, but if so, it would be helpful to readers.
@Hog Farm: None of the flags should be under copyright restrictions, having all been published without copyright notices prior to the 1978 cutoff, but I've asked the SVG creator to clarify things. I will try to find an appropriate depiction of the earlier flags, but the only ones circulating online are modern recreations (which I'd prefer to have an in-house SVG of instead) or postcard scans. @SounderBruce: I'll pick up this GA review. It might be a couple days before I can start, but I'll get a thorough review done in a timely manner. Hog Farm (talk) 00:45, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@SounderBruce: Thanks for improving this article! I'll pass it for GA now. Hog Farm (talk) 14:12, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comments[edit]

Lead At only four sentences long, it's fairly short for GA lead. I get that there's only so much you can say about this topic, but if you could expand it some, that would be nice.

Lead has been expanded a bit, but I'd rather keep it short for clarity. The design section has been slightly expanded, but again there is not much to say there.

Also, in the infobox, you have it's use listed down as a "state flag". Would "municipal flag" be more accurate here? State flags are generally those used at either the country-wide level or the state/province level, not the city level.

The infobox parameter is generated automatically based on FIAV usage symbols, which have no sign for city-level flags. I'll replace it with the Civil use, but it's still not entirely correct.

History "pennants—which" I think there should be spaces here, this isn't a hyphenated word.

MOS:DASH discourages using spaces for an em dash, but I've removed it anyway to improve flow.

Lilac Festival and Flag of Vienna are redlinks. If these topics are likely to pass WP:GNG, keep the redlinks to encourage article creation, but remove the wikilinks if not.

Both are notable entities and could have articles at a later time (especially the former, which I plan to write).

"which was designed by art director Lloyd L. Carlson of a local advertising company that had previously worked on the Expo '74 logo" Did Carlson, the advertising company, or both work on the Expo '74 logo?

The company is mentioned directly, but possibly both.

References Reference 26, the "Climber Finds Corpse" one, is used to cite that a climber was the first Spokanite to climb Mount Everest. The clipping does not seem to mention that the climber was the first Spokanite to climb Everest.

Replaced with another clipping. SounderBruce 07:30, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Overall, good job. I'll check for COPYVIO soon. I see no red flags for it, but I'll go ahead and check anyway. Hog Farm (talk) 03:23, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
