feedback[edit]

Hi Hsummermichelle--I saw your request for feedback on my talk page. When writing about companies, it is critical that you establish notability. To establish the notability of a company or brand, you need:

  • Sources that are independent of the company. Therefore, their company website, press releases, and similar content doesn't work
  • Sources that cover the company with significant detail. This can't be just a passing mention. The company needs to be a focus of the piece.
  • Sources need to be reliable--no blogs or other self-published media
  • You need to have several such sources.

For example, I see that you don't have this Forbes piece as a source. This source meets all the criteria. Forbes and the author of the piece don't have conflicts of interest as to their independence. The company is the focus of the article. Forbes is considered a generally reliable source. Try to avoid the company's website as much as you can!

Tone issues:

  • Fleur du Mael worked with the 62-year-old magazine to create lacy underpinnings and sexy loungewear, with a cheeky nod to all things Playboy stood for. Remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. You should state just the facts and only the facts. The "cheeky nod" is excessive and the language you're using here is over-the-top. Try something like Felur du Mal collaborated with Playboy in 2015. That's all you need--those are the plain facts.
  • Products price range were from $38-$425 and could be easily purchased online at diverse retailers like Shopbob, Fleur du Mal, and Net-a-Porter. stay away from stuff like this. Wikipedia does not exist to sell products for companies. Don't list prices or state where you can buy them. I'd remove this sentence entirely.
  • a famous perfume brand Kilian stay away from words like "famous". It just sounds like fluff.
  • The whole products section is coming across as promotional. I think the article would have a better chance of surviving the review process and making it to mainspace if you removed this whole chunk.

Hopefully this feedback is helpful! Let me know if you have more questions. Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:30, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Michelle, I read your article and it's good for me in general, except some wiki links you can add. Also, since you mentioned specific collections and series of the brand, it might be better to insert some photos (if they are available) to make your article more visual.
