Teletype machine?[edit]

According to the article, "The floor broker receives an order via teletype machine". Is this still correct in 2008? Haven't TTYs fallen into disuse in the early '90's? Or is TTY an established and enforced standard in stock trading? I would expect a modern floor broker to use more modern technology, e.g. e-mail, viewed on a video display. (Maybe we should just remove the phrase "via teletype machine", or replace it with "via electronical means".) --NetRolller 3D 13:54, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Purpose of the trading floor?[edit]

Please expand the article to explain why humans are involved at all in matching buyers and sellers. Can't computers do that much faster? I guess there must be some reason the trading floor still exists, but why? More details about what goes on there would help. 72.208.56.42 (talk) 12:31, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
