AUDIO footage[edit]

In video, audio and picture are almost always recorded on the same medium. In film, audio is recorded on a separate medium (originally film, then 1/4 inch tape, now digitally) though old-fashioned "single-system" news cameras recorded audio and picture on the same medium. In my experience, raw audio recordings are not referred to as "footage," but I'm only feeling my own elephant part here.Jim Stinson (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 23:08, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Audio tape was never measured in feet. No one ever recorded an audio interview and said, "Great footage!" Actually, the use of the term "footage" in the digital tape-free age is archaic and annoying.77Mike77 (talk) 14:34, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
