Move discussion in progress[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Formula One drivers from the United Kingdom which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 16:21, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mazepin[edit]

After the news Mazepin is racing neutral, are we still to leave Mazepin's stats on this page? I am thinking not, considering Swiss-born Grosjean is considered French. Admanny (talk) 01:51, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Admanny: I'm leaving it temporaily waiting on the outcome of the RM. If the page is moved then the awnser to that question is clearly not. If it isn't moved the question (and the scope of the entire series) is in a grey-area. I propose that we don't tackle this question until we know the outcome of the RM.

Agreed. We will wait then Admanny (talk) 09:03, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SSSB: Move failed. What's the deal here then? Admanny (talk) 07:47, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Admanny: we change the opening sentence (which gives the scope) to reflect that Mazepin won't be detailed in this article (like has been done at Formula One drivers from the United Kingdom)

needs updating[edit]

article is out of date needs to include Nikita Mazepin 82.163.184.41 (talk) 17:38, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mazepin never competed as a Russian and therefore falls outside the scope of the article. This is explained in the article's notes. SSSB (talk) 18:02, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mazepin[edit]

Nikita Mazepin is also a russian driver 188.106.16.19 (talk) 19:06, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

But he didn't race as a Russian, and therefore doesn't fit within the article's scope (as defined by the opening sentence of the article). SSSB (talk) 20:54, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@SSSB:, English is not my native language, but I assume that the opening sentence is not clear. May be it is better to re-write it to something like: "There have been three Formula One drivers who officialy represented Russia"? And mention that Mazepin is not included (timeline section is too far). Corvus tristis (talk) 08:32, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that saying they "officially [represent] Russia" is contenious (which is why this page isn't named "Formula One drivers who represented Russia".) A note may be warranted though. SSSB (talk) 07:22, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mazepin[edit]

What about Nikita Mazepin? 85.144.235.63 (talk) 09:15, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mazepin didn't participate as a Russian. As explained in the article, and the other two sections titled "Mazepin" on this talk page. SSSB (talk) 09:39, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
