The United States, too, has unique feeder formulae of its own. Since 1974, the most common route to top-level single seaters was Formula Atlantic, which is now known as the Champ Car Atlantic Championship. It supports the Champ Car World Series. The latter's commercial rival is the Indy Racing League, which has had its own feeder formula since 2002 in the form of the Indy Pro Series. Below the Champ Car Atlantic Championship sits the Star Mazda Championship, which is approximately equivalent to Formula Three.

In what way precisely? Adrian M. H. 13:57, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be worthwhile to provide a list of all well know Formula car types with links to the related articles? e.g. Formula Continental/FF2000, Formula 5000, Formula 500, etc. How about basic technical data, for example approximate power, weight, aero type (with or without wings, flat bottom, flat bottom plus diffuser, or ground effect tunnels)? P.S. I added info on the current U.S. Formula Ford engines after the statement about the Europen spec engine, perhaps that needs to be moved to the "outside Europe" section?--Grintch (talk) 19:48, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

formulæ[edit]

Wiktionary has this about the word "formulæ":
(obsolete or archaic) plural form of formula
Should that mean "formulae" should be used "formulæ"? I think yes. Or, if not, then the use clearly is not 'obsolete'. 82.141.73.182 (talk) 17:31, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There should read: Should that mean "formulae" should be used instead of "formulæ"? 82.141.73.182 (talk) 19:34, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning of "Formula" in motorsport.[edit]

The meaning of "formula" in motorsport is completly missed by this article. As a consequence, the article is full of irrelevant material. One make series - regardless of the seating or bodystyle of the car - cannot be considered as true Formulas. There are many solutions to a formula and the FIA, by adopting the word, implied that these solutions were to be found by the competitor. Currently, there are only two FIA formulas: F1 and F3.78.18.138.219 (talk) 14:07, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
