Original founding in 1631?[edit]

Most of the 18th century sources I have looked at state as fact that the Swedes had arrived in New Sweden in the year 1627, with Peter Lindstrom building this and other forts by 1631, but that it was destroyed that year by the Dutch. Has this been discounted, or is it perhaps a fiction made up by Oxenstierna to establish a prior Swedish claim? Til Eulenspiegel 15:07, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
