Can location be fixed?[edit]

Maybe offtopic , but why is Fort Mcree shown on the wrong Island on Google maps?
I know the exact location is disputed, But I have been there many times,
and know that the Gmaps ID(right before the Ranger station) is pretty far off.
And for some reason, is viewable from a higher elevation (on Gmaps) than Pickens or Barrancas! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.231.37.87 (talk) 19:11, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why Google Maps has the location incorrect. If you click the coordinates at top right and select Google Maps from there, the position is dead on. Google Maps allows editing of addresses, but it doesn't seem to allow editing of landmark and settlement center positions. You might be able to get them to correct it by writing to them (and you can point to the Wikipedia article to give them better coordinates). • WarpFlyght (talkcontribs) 09:41, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Location in Google maps now Ok. Are there really any remnants?[edit]

(11/11/10) I checked just now and Google Maps seems to have the correct (claimed) location. I think , however that there are no remnants at all. I vaguely recall reading somewhere that some people suspect the remnants are in the Gulf between Perdido Key and Santa Rosa Island. --98.183.5.248 (talk) 01:51, 12 November 2010 (UTC)reader[reply]
