What about the tunnel to the island from the fort?[edit]
Reputedly, the Fort Commandant ordered a deep mining shaft to be dug under the Fort with stairs and a tunnel dug under the submerged sea floor directly in a straight line from the fort to the small island offshore, for many years of work, and then up to an exit there.
