I've re-arranged the forts listed so they are in order of direction. I've also added a link to apage with a map. Swanny18 (talk) 00:17, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1870?[edit]

I was looking for a discussion of the 1870 fortifications. Further Howard's The Franco-Prussian War claims Metz blocked the path to the French heartland for "ten centuries." Can that be right? Paul, in Saudi (talk) 09:59, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling[edit]

The initial article appears to have been written using American spelling. Certainly, the first use of any spellings that differ between American and British usage were American. —Stephen (talk) 21:38, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Time precision[edit]

I suggest to make it clearer that this article only concerns the contemporary (XXth century) fortifications. Metz has been fortified since the roman ages, and still visible are those from the middles ages and modern era (see the French article). --Olivier Debre (talk) 11:14, 4 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
