Foursome (golf) → Foursomes – Per the rules of golf, the correct terminology is "Foursomes", not "foursome". This page was the result of a merge, but seemingly the wrong target was chosen. 51.6.161.113 (talk) 23:06, 16 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Support See: https://www.randa.org/en/rog/2019/rules/the-rules-of-golf/rule-22 Foursomes is the correct form. The idea that this is a plural, and the singular is Foursome, is incorrect. It is true that "foursomes" is the plural of "foursome", a group of four people. However the golfing usage is overwhelmingly the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. A google search did turn up a usage in contract bridge in the UK (meaning I think, a competition with teams of four) but with much less frequency. Nigej (talk) 13:05, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly we're talking about "foursomes" not "foursome". Secondly we have the concept of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. In this case the golfing use is clearly the primary topic and you haven't produced any evidence to the contrary. Nigej (talk) 12:35, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
