Untitled[edit]

Never heard of such a rivalry. It's not mentioned by the French article either.

Social background[edit]

This article, even though well documented on the statistic side, lacks the social background that makes to the essence of a sport rivalry. Please, don't get me wrong, I write this only as a constructive critic. Good wiking, Mariano(t/c) 13:03, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • True, consider it as a starting point, to have the correct history, and we can complete it later, I think that there is a lot to say on the last games (Worl Cup 1998 and European championship). I have some more biographies to so on Brazilian players and articles in french Wiki, and then I will give it a tryDingy 14:29, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Move[edit]

We should move this article to: France and Italy football rivalry, to keep consistency with the other articles. Any objections? Sebastian Kessel Talk 21:52, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

hi, no objection, I still plan to complete it, one day, using a new text in french wiki ..Dingy 01:31, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, I'll do it tomorrow morning. (too tired now :) ) Sebastian Kessel Talk 01:56, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Rivalry[edit]

Is there any source for this rivalry? Growing up in France, I never heard it mentioned or felt that there was any rivalry. Italy was always regarded as (generally) the better team. It is only recently that France started doing outstandingly well in football.

This is further supported by the French article, entitled "France and Italy in football" which merely lists games and makes no mention of a rivalry. Had there been one, it would have been mentioned. 193.132.242.1 17:15, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it`s only the Italian press, seekeng a way to fill the pages no matter how, that speaks about a football "rivalry" with France. Kornjaca (talk) 18:00, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In France, nobody cares![edit]

There's an issue with this article. If ever there was something like a France–Italy soccer rivalry, honestly, nobody in France cares about it. It's an Italian problem, not a French one. Anyway, soccer isn't that significant in France, it's seen as a typical immigrant affair. France-England rugby rivalry is a lot more significant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Beaugency (talkcontribs) 15:01, 15 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
