Coordinates[edit]

Please note that the coordinates in this article need fixing as:

When I put these co-ords into Google Earth I do get a river junction. When I search for "Jane River Tasmania" I get a short creek to the north-west of the junction given by these co-ords. (The river is labelled by Google, not by users)..

Both are correct - Google gives the location at a point very far upstream - the Jane River is quite long. The coordinates and names are taken from the official mapping at [1]. I'll remove the geodata-check template. --Ozhiker (talk) 13:04, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've reverted the edit by User:Applejack1234 as it contained several changes which were not WP:NPOV, and redundant info. POV included section title, and word "remarkable". Redundant part was "To read the remarkable story of this battle, visit this Franklin Dam entry" as this is already covered by "Main Article:Franklin River" --Ozhiker (talk) 09:59, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Ozhiker. I've tried again. I continue to think that the previous arrangement doesn't adequately point a skimming reader to the Franklin Dam entry. Perhaps if the 'Franklin Dam' article was re-titled 'Franklin Dam Controversy' or 'Franklin Dam Conservation Battle' this wouldn't be necessary. At a minimum I think it necessary to remove the summary par - otherwise a skimming reader may conclude 'Oh, WP doesn't have much.' Perhaps it was just that I'm not familliar with the Main Article syntax, but I found the WP Franklin River article via Google, disappointedly concluded that WP was sadly deficient, and then only found the WP Franklin Dam article via google.
