Freedomland?[edit]

I wonder if anyone remembers the jingle about "Come with me and take my hand/ And let's go to Freedomland"? Sounds an awful lot like "Take my hand and come with me/ To a land where you and me are free to be... you and me"...68.36.214.143 03:36, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ahem, it was "Mommy, Daddy, take my hand. Take me out to Freedomland." source to come in a moment. 68.36.214.143 03:40, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And I guess I bobbled the lyrics of Free to Be as well. Oops. Turns out that there are quite a few lines between "take my hand" and "free to be". Nonetheless, this was apparently done in New York (and Freedomland had been in the Bronx). So there might've been some inspiration from the old radio jingle. 68.36.214.143 03:53, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly a rewrite?[edit]

This article seems awfully negative in its view of the record. Not encyclopedic, to my mind. What do you all think about a rewrite? 206.255.56.241 (talk) 21:19, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted that material for now (taking it back to the 13 Dec 2007 version), as it didn't have citations and was full of "weasel words" and POV terms. Certainly it needs citations both for the positive and adding any negative that we can back up with reasonable sourcing. Lawikitejana (talk) 11:17, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Track listing[edit]

It would be great if someone could go through and clean this up; TV and album casts are all mixed up (Cicely was not on the album, but Diana Sands and Dick Cavett were, for example. A track listing of the album would be a good way to go.98.14.181.12 (talk) 13:06, 31 January 2012 (UTC)Nonmember[reply]

Title[edit]

Why not Free To Be ... You and Me ? --P64 (talk) 17:46, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Primary topic?...[edit]

I would argue that the primary topic for this title is actually THE SONG with this name, by the New Seekers. For some reason though, there isn't yet a Wikipedia article about the song itself, and the disambig links at the top of the article don't clarify this, and neither does the intro of this article....While the song was originally written and performed as a part of this project, the song remains rather well-known to this day, while the project itself no longer is. So I think most of the people who arrive at this article are looking for info about the song, in particular, and are rather confused when they arrive at an article about a different (albeit related) topic with no prominent mention of, much less a link to an article about, the song! -2003:CA:870A:89E6:4FC:FC02:4896:CBAD (talk) 10:15, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Gender neutrality" ?[edit]

I don't think think so.

Her project was to discourage "make/female gender stereotyping."

It had absolutely nothing to do with "identifying as," which "gender neutrality" strongly implies. I think that sentence in the lede needs a slight rewrite. 70.190.65.59 (talk) 14:57, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
