- "...and was rammed by one of her sisters in 1877." → I added the word "accidentally".
- "The Alma-class ironclads[Note 1] were designed as improved versions of the armored corvette Belliqueuse suitable for foreign deployments." → I'm not sure what your intentions were with this sentence, but I hope this makes it clearer, "The Alma-class ironclads[Note 1] were designed as improved versions of the armored corvette Belliqueuse, suited for foreign deployments."
- Related to the above, I added to the lead that the ship was meant as an improvement over the Belliqueuse.
- I did the usual light copyediting, apart from the specific edits I mention here.
- Maybe the note deserves referencing, as well.
- I edited the lead image's caption a bit.
