Fate?[edit]

The statement that "She was wrecked at île Madame at the Battle of the Basque Roads on 26 February 1809. The wreck was captured by the British in April and burnt" is not supported by anything I have seen except a private web site. Neither the French nor the English WIKI articles on that battle mention the Jean Bart. --86.207.227.153 (talk) 20:45, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming this is the same Jean Bart, she was wrecked on a shoal near Île Madame on 26 February 1809 while Basque Roads was blockaded by the British. I believe it was Edward Pelham Brenton who incorrectly claimed she was captured and burnt during the battle. I have amended the article. Barret (talk) 15:14, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Displacement[edit]

The Temeraire class displaced about 1550-1630 tons, not the ridiculous numbers cited here. --86.207.227.153 (talk) 20:55, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
