Penny is now 12[edit]

In these edits I have changed much of what was submitted by 69.255.152.12. A recurring problem in this article and at the Inspector Gadget 2015 article, is that we keep making statements like "Penny is now 12" and "Penny is now 14" without providing any context about the original series. We have to write this with the understanding that readers may not be familiar with the original series. If you walked into a party and someone said, "Hey, we've got hummus now!" You'd be confused because you just got there. Did they not have hummus earlier? There were other tonal issues too, like "For some reason, he still uses self destructing messages." This isn't appropriate tone for an encyclopedia. If we don't know why something is still done, weak speculation doesn't help. I also removed much of the prose in the Brain character section because it was basically just rehashing of plot. That's not the purpose of the character section. We should be describing recurring character traits, not one-off jokes like the Woody Allen collar. Providing real-world context would be nice, too. Gadget's stupidity[edit]

In this edit I removed content submitted by 166.171.58.207 in these edits. Statements about Gadget's stupidity, especially in comparison to older incarnations, are entirely interpretive, and constitute original research. "In this series, Gadget is much more incompetent and oblivious to the points where he's an unrestrained menace towards the people around him." "Gadget is much more incompetent and gullible in this series and can't see the obvious." Who says? You? The other problem statement "Nozzaire hates Gadget because he is stupid" sounds like the IP editor's personal interpretation. The previous version, "Nozzaire hates Gadget, as Nozzaire perceives him as stupid" makes it clear that Nozzaire perceives Gadget as stupid, and hates him because of this. It's a subtle difference, but one that should remain. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:57, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Missing characters[edit]

"Claw and Thaw's mother and William's grandmother."

This is mentioned under Maryland. There's no listing for anyone named Thaw or William though.

For those who haven't seen the series and are open to the plausibility of this data but also skeptical, some template:cite episode for stuff like this would be useful to support the article's claims. I'm going to place a fact tag to encourage it. Ranze (talk) 02:56, 4 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
