Five Sullivan Buildings[edit]

Just for clarification, what are we considering the five standing Sullivan buildings? Obviously, the Gage, Carson Pirie Scott, the Auditorium Building are three. Holy Trinity Cathedral is another. I would also count Pilgrim Baptist Church (which is technically still standing, though greatly compromised) and the Charnley House (which while some attribute to Wright alone, came out of Sullivan's office so must be considered one of his works). That makes six, seven if you count the parish house for the Holy Trinity Cathedral, which is attached to the main church at its rear, but could be considered a separate structure.

There are many more than five. The facades for the Barker-Haskwell buildings on Wabash, the Krause Music Store in Lincoln Square, the Ryerson and Getty tombs to name a few. Then, of course, there are the Adler and Sullivan buildings, like the Jewelers Building, the Charnley-Persky House in Gold Coast, the Kaufman Store in Lakeview, the Halsted House in Old Town, and the Mannheimer House in Lincoln Park.
