Notability of third-party accessories?[edit]

This list could go on forever: there's a whole truckload of third party accessories ofr the Game Boy line, even more so as it has so far been in existence for 17 years. Just now I made a huge sweep and knocked off most of them, only retaining the Gameshark and Action Replay; Gameshark has its claim to fame in Lewis Galoob Toys, Inc. v. Nintendo of America, Inc., while AR follows in that footsteps. Anybody else have any offers on notability of a third-party accessory? Hbdragon88 05:03, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Major update[edit]

OK...whew. A lot went into updating this article. This article led me to editing several other articles along the way and I learned a lot and provided a lot for everyone else. There are a lot more accessories that can be added, so please keep adding them. I agree with Hbdragon here that the focus should be on first-party accessories and only very significant or popular third-party devices like Game Genie and GameShark. Pictures would be really cool I think, but I don't know how Wikipedia feels about too many pictures, so I only added two new ones. I will add more to this page in the future, and in the meantime, here is the link to a seemingly comprehensive list of Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, Game Boy Micro, DS, and DS Lite accessories and peripherals. Nintendo MP3 Player[edit]

Will someone update the article with the Nintendo MP3 Player Accessory. It is basically a Play-Yan Micro minus the video playback. Released only in Europe I believe. --DexF 16:21, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Game Boy Sewing Machine[edit]

Yes, it is a real thing. I was just going through the article revisions since my last update and noticed someone added a header about it but no content and it got deleted. Would be cool if someone could take the time to research it and add it to the list. It's called IZEK, made by Singer. Action Replay listed in Game Boy article[edit]

The article is supposed to list only Game Boy accessories. In the Third Party Accessories section, the Action Replay is listed. The Action Replay, unless I am mistaken, is exclusively for the Nintendo DS line. Given the context of the other cheat devices in the section, perhaps the Action Replay deserves a mention or See Also, but not its own subheader. LonelyBread 20:25, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

pedisedate[edit]

apparently, there was another, unreleased peripheral called the pedisedate. the idea was that it would administer anesthetic while the user was playing the console and thus, giving them a smooth and low stress transition into surgery or other procedures. can someone look into this a little further? Stereo speakers[edit]

There used to be an extension for the Gameboy Classic, a small block with 2 speakers, that plugged straight into the headphones jack. It worked on the stereo output of the headphones, without any additional amplification, and sounded a bit less loud than the internal speaker. Looked grey plastic, like the GB body.
