Why[edit]

I'm curious as to "WHY" the awards were given: i.e. "WHY" is it called the First Penguin

To the above poster: As I understand it, the winner was supposed to be the first penguin to jump in the water--everyone else just follows. I imagine it changed this year because they got tired of explaining it all the time.

Along the same lines, a couple of other awards changed this year. There was no Maverick, so I'll go ahead and note that on the main page. But there was a new one called the Ambassador Award: Jason Della Rocca. It seems like that takes the place of the older community award, but who knows? Fairly serious copy work.[edit]

Heavy wording and structure changes. HOPEFULLY, the factual content is unchanged.sinneed (talk) 05:54, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Event years Confusion[edit]

How come the recent years are messed up? The page the 19th awards to 2018 (despite it taking place in 2019) and the same for the 20th awards being listed in 2019 despite it being both schedule and take place in 2020. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dave247 (talkcontribs) 02:41, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

for the 19th awards, 2018 represents the year that eligible games were pulled from (even though the ceremony was in 2019). --Masem (t) 02:50, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
