Deletion Contest[edit]

I'm a little puzzled by the deletion nomination. Its a recently created stub that certainly needs to be expanded to include more about the company. Certainly not worthy of deletion, Apollo was one of the well known early Atari 2600 developers, forming in 1981 right after Imagic (Activision was of course the first and most well known, forming in 1981). Other third party publishers that were also well known would be Data Age, Specravision, US Games, Mystique, Mythicon, Coleco, Epyx, etc. It was also the first not formed by former Atari people. --Marty Goldberg 07:23, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion compelted. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 21:49, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of individual games[edit]

I've looked through the recent GbA games nominated for GAN and I'm wondering if, at under 4kB, the games are independently notable. The focus of the sources appears to be GbA as a company and less the games themselves (characterized elsewhere as "shovelware"). When the games are mentioned, it's several sentences. So before I begin the GAN reviews, I'm wondering whether they shouldn't be combined into one GbA article, or perhaps a separate "List of Games by Apollo games" article. @Taylor Trescott, thoughts? czar  17:55, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm gonna say the ones I have nominated are probably notable, since there's several reviews for them. There are definitely a couple that aren't notable (like Racquetball or Wabbit) and when I get around to improving this article they'll be covered here in a Games section. I'd compare it to the precedent of Talk:Outcast (Warriors)/GA1 (article diff, GAN discussion). It's not just that the product is simple—there wasn't much written about it, which is almost always cause for merging up. I'm bringing this up in advance because it would be awkward to actually go through with the GAN just to say it. czar  18:08, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)I should add that I'm namely talking about Space Cavern and Spacechase (in their current state) because I'm more ambivalent about Skeet Shoot and think Lost Luggage (video game) is substantial. czar  18:16, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I believe there's enough reviews of both of my current GANs to justify articles for them... for Outcast it doesn't seem like there was any third-party coverage, while there's quite a bit for Skeet Shoot and Space Cavern. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 18:14, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Wouldn't be opposed to a Spacechase merge at this time. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 18:26, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

There's a slight difference, but the logo at http://www.digitpress.com/library/interviews/interview_ed_salvo.html is a bit more high-quality than the current one, if you're interested czar  16:39, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Spelunker was developed by 3 former employees of Apollo. Maybe worth adding to the article. --Mika1h (talk) 23:18, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
