Change template[edit]

I wonder if the current template (Infobox bridge) is appropriate for this proposal - especially now that it is halted and there is a possibility that it will never go ahead. I wonder if Template:Infobox future infrastructure project would be more appropriate? Any thoughts? --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 13:30, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tense[edit]

This article is very inconsistent with its use of tense, implying variously that it either is or is not a current proposal. As I understand it at the moment it's still proposed to be built, just very likely not to actually happen. Khan has said he wont fund it, but he can't actually cancel it and the people who can - the Garden Bridge Trust - have not made a decision yet. Thryduulf (talk) 20:16, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As I understand it, the Garden Bridge Trust's authorisation to build the bridge is based on a planning permission, a condition of which is that it must obtain a guarantee. Khan has refused the guarantee, which means that at the moment the bridge does not have planning permission to go ahead. Commentary suggests that it is unlikely that a guarantee will be granted before the planning permission expires. There is of course the chance that a guarantee materialises before planning permission expires, even though everyone thinks that is unlikely. I think it is most accurate to say the status is "proposed" but not "planned". --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 14:48, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A bridge that may be closed[edit]

I have seen, but can't find a source now, the comment that a footbridge that may well be closed for one of 12 yearly multi-day events when one turns up is an idiotic idea. To be useful, a bridge must be open at regular times (normally permanently, but closing at a defined time for the night, for example, is not a deal-breaker). If a source is found, this is relevant information. Pol098 (talk) 17:40, 16 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
