HBT[edit]

The link HBT agar doesn't work. I found a disambiguation page HBT, which points toward a preferable HBT (agar) but this doesn't exist either. Situation will need to be looked at again in future. Emble64 (talk) 12:06, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

what is the cause of gardnerella? Ă

Old vs New Name[edit]

The page shows, "Once classified as a species of Haemophilus". I was under the impression that it still is a species of Haemophilus and that the name Gardnerella vaginalis was an older term used mostly by clinicians while Haemophilus vaginalis was a more current term used by microbiologists.

WRONG. But then again, the whole damn page is pretty ridiculously bad, and has to be rewritten by an expert. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.130.213.57 (talk) 04:23, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is a contradiction here. "G. vaginalis is not considered the cause of the bacterial vaginosis, but a signal organism of the altered microbial ecology associated with overgrowth of many bacterial species." is followed by: "G. vaginalis is the predominant cause of bacterial vaginosis" under symptoms.

Species[edit]

"A genus of Gram-variable-staining facultative anaerobic bacteria of which Gardnerella vaginalis is the only species" is no longer true. The genus has been broken up into several different species.

someone seemed to incorporate suggestions/commentary into the article itself — Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.123.253.1 (talk) 12:51, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
