The bass riff of this song on the DVD version of 2 Against Nature is incredible. I've never heard anything like it. I am never sure how much literal meaning can be taken from Steely Dan's songs. I think the writers like the way words sound and the way stories implode without having any real central storyline. I prefer not to think of the literal story anyway, if there is one. It interferes with enjoyment.
