Article is an unnecessary dictionary definition[edit]

The source this definition is copied and pasted from is very specifically with respect to places in Malaysia. It does not imply that this term is used for places elsewhere. These types of local units align with Local government in Malaysia. This definition is somewhat a synonym for Incorporated town, and this term can be added there (or to Town). Google search indicates that "gazetted" is often used in Australian sources but "gazetted town" is not a distinct entity there or anywhere else, with this referring to localities of many types, so it should be discussed at Local government in Australia. Actually, now that I think of it, I agree with you (and you make some good points). I just thought it was an interesting topic and a phrase I hadn't heard prior to a finding it in a book I was reading (about Australia). Anyway, feel free to do whatever you like with this article. I was just trying to make Wikipedia better and a great source of information. Cheers! --Thorwald (talk) 07:31, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi both, just to add I was the one who originally proposed this article for deletion, but I'd support it just being a redirect. -Kj cheetham (talk) 08:54, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
