Fair use rationale for Image:Geebee.png[edit]

Image:Geebee.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The development section seems to act more like a biography in the opening paragraphs, similar to Xevious. I still think Xevious needed some work with removing the biography-like content, but at the time I was content with the rest of the article. This time there is no reception at all and the Legacy is only mentioning sequels. This may end up needing to convert this into a series article if there is no reception. As for the images, I don't think they're the most helpful. The Japanese version is more informative as it gives an idea of what the Arcade cabinet looked like. I'm not sure if it's within your ability but perhaps a GIF of the gameplay can help article more than the Gameover screenshot.

For right now the biggest obstacle is the lack of reception. I'm willing to pass it to GA if it at least has enough reviews/opinions from credible sources. Even if the reviews/opinions are looking at the game retrospectively. Once that happens, there can be a "Reception and legacy" section.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 20:42, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I imagine reviews are gonna be pretty tough to find (after all, this is a game from 1978), but I'll see what I can find. Namcokid47 (talk) 21:25, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I went looking through Cash Box ([1]); I found an announcement that Gremlin got bought by Sega on page 72 of the October 28, 1978 issue ([2]). Cash Box didn't mention Gee Bee at the AMOA show that November; Gremlin seemed to be all about Frogs instead. It was called out in the November 11 issue ([3], page 68 / C-16) as one of 4 games Namco was showing at AMOA, though. It got a photo in the year-end retrospective in the December 30 issue, ([4], page 107 / C-41), but not much else. --PresN 22:05, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
MobyGames had a review from AllGame, but it mostly just talks about the game itself and not much else... Namcokid47 (talk) 22:10, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@PresN: thanks for finding those. I'll see what I can do with those, regarding the Reception section. Namcokid47 (talk) 22:19, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In that same November 11th, 1978 issue, the U.S. Distributor for the game is indicated to be Namco America Inc.--not Gremlin as is currently indicated in the article's infobox. alainsane (talk) 07:25, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Blue Pumpkin Pie: Okay, I added what I could. Namcokid47 (talk) 03:24, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I found a couple of notable mentions from Retrogamer. I added them in the refideas of the talkpage. Theres also some additional info on the development of the game too. I'm going to do some minor editing on the Development and see if it passes after that.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 06:02, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
One more thing I noticed is that there is Development information on the gameplay section. The information regarding the board intended to resemble a face and using cellophane to emulate color are not gameplay related.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 18:53, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. Namcokid47 (talk) 19:03, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I think overall it's a GA pass. I don't see any glaring issues with the article. Everything appears well covered and no grammatical errors that I can see.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 19:19, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a bunch! Namcokid47 (talk) 19:50, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
