Operating Units table[edit]

I've created a draft table to identify operating units graphically, rather than in the text. It can be found in the Venezuelan entry. Please let me know your opinions on it, including any modifications. Askari Mark (Talk) 03:45, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List?[edit]

Is this article still enough like a list to be considered a list now? With e text and [aragraphs I don't think it is really a list any more. -Fnlayson (talk) 01:29, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is far from a list. The most basic data like operators by aircraft numbers isn't available. This article should be changed to "F-16 operators" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.169.139.210 (talk) 13:17, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

MDS Listings[edit]

I must mention that I despise the way this article presents pairs of models in inline text.

In particular, can we please agree to write something like "F-16A and F-16B" instead of "F-16A/B" or even "F-16A/F-16B? Since the US military designation systems actually use the "/" character, I think this is easily misunderstood by non-experts as some kind of variant of the "F-16A".

Our goal here should be to make things easier to understand, it's not to replicate the existing idiomatic shibboleth that is the military.

Thanks! 70.251.150.167 (talk) 02:48, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FMS Sales tables[edit]

I may do some work to try to combine the two large tables in this article with the list of type versions here. Does anyone have any suggestions/good resources for this effort? I'm mostly just planning to reorganize what's already in this article, to be more coherent. 70.247.170.9 (talk) 01:56, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mexico[edit]

There are users on WP who seem to think that Mexico is going to buy just about every combat aircraft available at some points, and in large numbers. An example of this is the order Mexico placed with Eurocopter in September/October 2008 for 150 Eurocopter Tigers! I have yet to find a cite for that. Given the frequency with which such claims are made on WP, I've removed Mexico from the Potetnial Operators section. Please don't re-add this without providing reliable sources for such claims. I'm sorry if I'm stepping on anyones toes, but there are twoo many cries of "wolf" on Mexican orders to leave these in on good faith. - BillCJ (talk) 23:27, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing that out! I believe I've rewritten (in good faith) some of the incoherent sentences that have been added mentioning such claims. In the future, I won't waste my time. Unfortunately, non-cited statements are the norm here, so it's more difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff. 70.251.156.202 (talk) 17:59, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Romania[edit]

Other info says 12 F-16 will cost 120 million euro, while contract is worth 670 million euro. --SojerPL (talk) 17:02, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Romanian entry needs editing. Currently only the plan to buy F-16 from Portugal has been approved and there isn't more news about it being a done deal, yet the article reflects this as something done and that aircraft will be in fact delivered in the next five years. Also, recently the image File:F-16 De La Fuérza Aérea Rumana.jpg was added when it is a fake/Photoshopped image.[1] Best regards, Get_It (talk) 17:04, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Iran[edit]

About this edit: [2], I recall it's a diorama made by Fariborz Shammas in the photo [3]. There is no source stating they ever got F-16... apart from Venezuelan evaluation. --SojerPL (talk) 00:14, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Croatia[edit]

Isn't linking Croatia with F-16 too much outdated, it seems they will stick with the MiG-21s. Bulgaria seems more likely future operator.--SojerPL (talk) 19:31, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Add Croatia to "Failed Bids?"[edit]

Croatia has selected the Rafale and assuming that order goes through, it's extremely unlikely that they'll end up buying F-16s at any point. StSeanSpicer (talk) 02:10, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ukraine[edit]

Should Ukraine be under "Future operators" or "Potential operators"? S C Cheese (talk) 12:31, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The information has been moved. S C Cheese (talk) 10:35, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
