Title[edit]

This page should be moved George Floyd protests in Georgia (U.S. state). ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:19, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Another Believer: Should it? The U.S. protests seem like the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC to me. --Mdaniels5757 (talk) 16:41, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mdaniels5757, OK, I don't feel too strongly either way, I am just used to seeing the disambiguation and wanted this page to be consistent. I'll let others decide what's best. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:45, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Support: There may be protests going on in the country of Georgia which don't have an article on here so the (U.S. state) should clear that up --2A00:23C6:ED01:400:64D1:5DB4:ADCC:104E (talk) 00:11, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
oppose for now. i had mentioned the alternate title only as a joke on the talk page of the source article when i made the split. i could easily be wrong about this, but for now, i am assuming that the international article would suffice to list protests in the country of georgia, if there are any. i had figured that qualifying the name of this article with " (U.S. state)" probably would have been even more confusing for most readers if protests in the country of georgia did not merit its own article. if it eventually does, though, i would happily support a move and a disambiguation page.
also, in the political sphere of armenia, azerbaijan, georgia, (abkhazia, artsakh,) and russia, i am currently only aware of 25 protesters in yerevan and 2 in moscow. dying (talk) 07:27, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Title (again!)[edit]

Hi, I was thinking that we change the article name; George Floyd protests in GeorgiaList of George Floyd protests in Georgia. The article read like a list to me. Any comments?  Darth Flappy «Talk» 17:23, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DarthFlappy: although i do agree with your point, i think, because currently, most, if not all, of the other articles covering protests in an individual state (or city or country) are not named with the "List of" prefix, regardless of whether their content primarily consisted of a list, i would imagine that it would be considered a disservice to move this article to the proposed location. in addition, because many of those other individual articles could not be accurately described as a list, i feel that it would not be appropriate to move all of those other articles as well to have consistency amongst the article titles.
alternatively, one way i can think of for you to rectify your dissonance would be to add content to this article so that it wouldn't read like a list anymore. come to think of it, that would probably be much easier than moving all the other articles anyway. dying (talk) 23:17, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yah, that makes sense. Thanks for the comment!  Darth Flappy «Talk» 23:31, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed spinoff[edit]

I propose spinning off an article solely on the Atlanta protests, in the same vein as the George Floyd protests in Columbus, Ohio page. I feel that the level of activity and the coverage of the events, including the subsequent Killing of Rayshard Brooks, justifies a full article for George Floyd protests in Atlanta. -JJonahJackalope (talk) 02:03, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
