Expansion

This article barely scratches the surface. Come on, add more info and sources about his career, legacy, musical style, etc. This guy should be a FA, but nobody wants to touch the damn country music articles, leaving me with all the freaking work. Repetitious...reads like a fanzine article for 5th graders. Someone with some experience fix this thing PLEASE!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.246.235.134 (talk) 23:32, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Hey I am going to be doing some work here. I will probably play a little with the writing style in addition to the expansion, but hopefully everything will work out. It looks like it has been a while since the Talk page has been touched, but I just wanted to get it out here just in case someone else comes around as well. Lawnmower incident

I am confused by how this is phrased. Was this a one-time thing? If so, who was his wife at the time? Was this the time? I'll be doing some research, but if anyone knows, it would save me some time. Laundry Week (talk) 20:30, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

GA?

Hello, all. I am thinking about taking this article to GA. A good example for a GA-class country music article is Willie Nelson. I think the lead should be expanded to three-four paragraphs and the article needs to be thoroughly expanded upon. All are welcome to assist in this process and if anyone has any other thoughts, please post here. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 02:29, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

This article is woefully under sourced and poorly written, no offense. --Malerooster (talk) 02:36, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
I reverted to an earlier version before a tom of unsourced material was added. Could anybody help improve the article with reliable sources going forward? This article is still in terrible shape. --Malerooster (talk) 02:43, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
Jones is one of the great figures in post-WWII country music, and this article does his biography a disservice. It is very poorly written, not for lack of effort but for lack of format and content presentation. For what is required in terms of citations, info, and tone, see pages on Bob Dylan or Pink Floyd as templates on how to do it right, or any music biography page that has been a featured article.
