Year of birth[edit]

His birth date is uncertain. I have added academic source about 1865. Check here please: Nikos Kazantzakis author, Peter Bien ed., The Selected Letters of Nikos Kazantzakis, Princeton Modern Greek Studies, Princeton University Press, 2012, ISBN 0691147027, p. 66. This year is confirmed by the photo of his gravestone. There is no source for 1869. Maybe this is a mistake. Jingiby (talk) 05:36, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Here is another source in French with similar photo from his gravestone. The plate is the same as on the photo in the article. The year of his birth is shown as 1865. Place of birth[edit]

Exactly. Only, your reverts didn't take notice of that. The article as it was before you started edit-warring, did mention that he was born in the Ottoman Empire. In your edit summaries, you used excuses that don't have anything to do with that (e.g. "Part of today Northern Greece became officially Bulgarian territory after the Balkan wars"). What does this have to do with Zorbas' birthplace? By the way I have found some sources supporting the view, he was born in Katafygio, but no one that confirms he was born in Kolindros, and because of that I have added tags into the article. Jingiby (talk) 20:13, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Jingiby, His full name, fathers name, year and place are documented in the Registry book of Katafygio until today. There is no such reliable evidence that he was born in Kolindros.
